Swapped the shade on my kitchen island and the square silhouette reads way more modern than the old round fixture. The light is soft enough that I can leave it on while eating without it feeling harsh. Converting it was simpler than I expected too.
The matte opal shade gives off such a soft, even glow that it works just as well as a reading lamp as it does for mood lighting. I've been keeping it on the dining table and the rectangular silhouette looks way more expensive than what I paid. Converted it to the hanging position in about two minute
The square shape fits perfectly over my kitchen island and the matte finish keeps the light soft instead of glaring. Swapping it from pendant to semi-flush took me maybe ten minutes with the included parts. Genuinely happy with how it looks.
